Enhancing Education in conflict affected communities in Eyumojock subdivision (Obang Clan)

Sensitization

In our ongoing efforts to support children affected by the Anglophone Crisis, IESDev conducted sensitization workshops in nine communities: Etikem, Bayip Assibong, Akak, Bakogo, Mbinda Tabo, Okoroba, Osselle, Mgbegati, and Abat. These sessions aimed to raise awareness about the importance of education and the impact of prolonged school closures. By engaging local leaders and parents, IESDev emphasized education’s vital role in shaping a brighter future for our children.

Distribution

On the 3th and 4th of September 2024 IESDev distributed educational kits to children in the following Communities such as Etikem, Bayip Assibong, Akak, Bakogo, Mbinda Tabo, Okoroba, Osselle, Mgbegati, and Abat. These kits included essential school supplies like notebooks, pens, and learning materials, empowering children who have been out of school since 2016. The distribution event was filled with joy and hope as we witnessed the excitement on the faces of the children and parents receiving their kits.

Live Testimony

After our distribution, we had the privilege of hearing heartfelt testimonies from families, Community school Coordinators in the affected communities. One parent from Mbinda Tabo shared, “Receiving these educational kits means everything to my children. It gives them a chance to learn and dream again.” Such powerful stories reinforce our commitment to ensuring that every child has access to quality education, despite the challenges they face.
